wastED x Shake Shack = the return of the juice pulp burger

On May 29th, we kicked off summer at the Madison Square Park Shake Shack with a wastED Juice Pulp Cheeseburger.

The waste-centric burger, which made its debut at the wastED pop-up in March and was featured at Shake Shack as a one-day-only special, is made with beet and carrot pulp left over from a cold-pressed juice operation and served on a bun made from stale rye bread mash.

On the side: Cucumber butts (ends discarded by the pickle industry to allow for uniform slices) and some Shake Shack crinkle-cut fries. Perfect for a Madison Square Park picnic.
